In this course, the student will be able to:
The students watch specific 20 minute videos of “inner work Through Yoga”- excerpts of a seminar conducted by Raghu Ananthanarayanan, and read relevant portions from the suggested reference material and prepare the first draft of their self-reflective essay; Class discussions on the key concepts; students complete their essays and submit as an assignment
The class structure for this course is designed to foster learning, self-study, reflection, and discussion on a weekly basis. Students are expected to attend and actively participate in a minimum of three contact hours with the faculty every week unless there are emergency circumstances.
At the end of the course, students will be required to present a paper to the class, which will be followed by a discussion with their peers and faculty. The grading for the course will be based on the following ratios:
30% for class assignments.
50% for the final presentation, and
20% for attendance, participation, and discussion in class.
This grading system is intended to ensure that students are fully engaged with the material and have ample opportunities to demonstrate their understanding as well as application and personal engagement through adoption of the practices they study.
