Learn Bhagavad Geeta (Ch. 3) and Intermediate Samskritam
Course Description:
In this course students will continue growing their knowledge of Bhagavad Geeta gained from the prior courses SAN1011 to SAN1021, to improve their grasp of Sanskrit Language structures, aptly illustrated through Shlokas of the Bhagavad Geeta from Chapter 3. Students will enhance their Sanskrit writing and speaking abilities.
Using special handouts, each verse of the Bhagavad Geeta will be expounded to unravel the inner meaning of the verse as well as grammatical structures of the language. Students will be able to more formally study Bhagavad Geeta in its native Sanskrit medium, with increased fluency.
Course Content:
This course is the 6th in a 16-course sequence which constitutes the Certificate Program in Bhagavad Geeta through Samskritam. In this course, the Faculty will lead the students verse by verse, in sequence through the Bhagavad Geeta, while simultaneously unfolding both the meanings of the verses in Chapter 3 as well as the nuances of the language.
This course will also introduce students to the following elements of the Sanskrit language: compounds of various classifications, adverb and noun transformations, continuous and indirect verb forms, comparative and superlative expressions and conjuncts.
Learning Objectives:
In this course, students will be able to relate to words and expressions from the Bhagavad Geeta in the following areas:
- Continuous forms within the main verb types.
- Use of comparative, superlative, intentional expressions.
- Further examination of conjuncts and their types
