The Yoga of the Bhagavad Gita
YOG2001 – (C.P.H.S – Core Course) This Course takes the Students into a Journey of Exploration of Yoga as enunciated in the Bhagavad Gita. In contemporary times, both the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita have gained popularity as key texts of Yoga. One of the unique contributions of the Bhagavad Gita is the synthesis of Nivritti Marga (path of contemplation) and Pravritti Marga (path of dynamic activity) through Yoga.
The teachings help us understand how deep meditation and excellence in action complement each other. We will explore the various systems of Yoga such as Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Dhyana Yoga, Jnana yoga, etc., along with the key ideas underlying each system, as presented by the Bhagavad Gita.
